Upcoming opportunity for scientific learning games?
The Encyclopedia of Life - an interactive zoo that will take 10 years to build and be free and accessible to everyone. The information will be available to be accessed at both novice and expert levels. The site will encourage "citizen-scientists" to add their sightings, which will be clearly marked side pages, while "the key details and science parts of the encyclopedia will be compiled and reviewed by experts."

It feels a bit like a waste of money to me if it's not a whole bunch more interactive than the way I understand it to be. If they give real-time 3-D simulations of the animals — maybe match-ups between animals based upon what we know of their behaviors. It's kinda' interesting, but I'd rather go on safari or watch the nature channel to see what different animals are like. It's probably good from an historical record point of view, but I'm not impressed.
Unless of course, they include the Tree Octopus…
