Yin's 2nd Comment on Clark's Blog
My second comment was posted in response to my impressions of Clark's VL product - from what little I could view via the Youtube clips. I am impressed by the inclusion of so much instructional support - scaffolding, feedback, and the avatar behaviors! A question I had been thinking of asking him the night of June 14 never got asked, so I'm posting it under his post, System Content: The 7 models in a sim

Yin, this is a great question. I meant to ask it during our conversation- I had initially asked him to mention how he went about designing and developing VL during his presentation but it did not happen. I agree that the 'modeling' aspect is the most crucial part. In the field of system dynamics, experts are asked to create system models (by using Stella etc.), which may go through a review and approval protocol...which eventually becomes the basis of the 'simulation' I am waiting to see Clark's response as to how they went about it.
